I'm back, and i know haven't been blogging recently which is partially due to exams and my busy schedule. Of course, the exams are now mostly over, with only our literature paper 2 left for the lit people in 4c. Good luck guys!
Today I had a conversation with Han Cong, and it was extremely heartening to see that he appreciates us so much as friends. I have to admit that i am a little touched, and we when all think back on the two years we have spent together, i really feel that we have bonded well as a class. We are all united, we all care for each other. These are times that we should definitely treasure as Fate has let our paths cross... How much time left do we actually have to spend with each other considering that 'O' levels are coming. I really feel fortunate to have made such great friends and i hope that we will keep in contact after we go our separate ways. We have gotten in trouble as a class, let's show them that we can emerge victorious as a class as well! Relationships are meant to be treasured, my friends. I sincerely hope that you guys feel the same as well...

The Aston Chronicles... Part 3
15th June... A day of fun and... more fun! =D
The day did not start off well at all, as I only caught two and a half hours of sleep the previous night. Let me explain... I slept at 2 but then I woke up at 4 30 am because I was having the most boring shit dream ever! So I tossed and turned till 6 (yes, i kept the time). Then I really cannot stand it already so I woke up to bath - no link. And I slept on the couch from 7 to 9... how degrading.
Tuition was moderately interesting and I managed to reach there early ... first time ok! So after that we met at MacDonalds before going to Astons. I find it funny that we agreed to meet at 130 but all of us got there at 230... zzz no sense of time =D!
For the first time ever, there was no queue at Aston and the service was exceptionally quick. I ordered "Deep Fried Fish" paired with pasta salad and ... onion rings again. The fish was good but I felt that there was too much of the outer layer... or whatever you call it. Not to mention that I put too much tabasco sauce that almost set my mouth on fire. The meal was very very filling and I'm not kidding you. I skipped my dinner and was still feeling full at about 12 before I went to sleep.
After our FLC meeting, I went for one of my primary school BBQ gatherings. I feel rather embarassed that I don't remember most of their names... and I can't even recongnize some of them. The BBQ wasn't exactly well planned haha... when we reached the BBQ pit we discovered that something was missing... OH WAIT, THERE WAS NO FOOD AHAHAHAHAHAHA. So some of the guys went to buy food to make up for their mistakes while hardworking people ( like me) stayed behind to look after the BBQ pit and to play bridge. I find it ironic that they took a whole two and a half hours just to get some food from a nearby shopping mall. The BBQ finally started and I decided to stay near the BBQ pit to source out some food... and girls ( hahaa no la joking). Anyway the only people who were actually cooking were the girls. So when I got there suddenly one of them shove to me the tongs and say " Na, go and flip the chicken". Then I was like " Flip what they all like flip already". She reply " Just keep flipping la". Ok lor flip lor flip lor flip more lor! Heh heh heh =) And one of them wasted fire starters by tossing them at me -.- one box $1.30 ok?
So guess what happened... Since the tongs was in the hands of a master chef and not a master flipper, all or most of the chicken wings became unedible charcoal. And this is not including the fishballs and the crabsticks... all cooked by me bwhahahaa. Note: Being in FLC does not mean you are an excellent cook but it means that you are an excellent taste tester =P. But we must always remember that the purpose of the BBQ is not to eat food but to have a good time together =D. That being said... there was really nothing to do during the BBQ except to talk... yes, that was IT. Sometimes there would be laughter...then right after that there would be complete silence zzz.
There was one funny incident. One classmate of mine had a crush on a girl like six years ago ( YES, SIX YEARS AGO LOL), and he still likes that girl - WOW. So we ask him, why you don't try to talk to her. Of all the things he could say, of all the things he could do to make it less embarassing, he said, " I keep trying to talk to her, but she always dao me!". HAHAHAHAHAAH, of course we all laugh like siao. Then when that girl arrive, he got on his bicycle and cycled away alone... for one and a half hours LOL. Emo kid siah... bwahahahaha i'm such an evil fag =D.
That's more or less concludes the eventful friday. I know the BBQ is quite no link to FLC but it does prove that I should never cook... be it in FLC or in BBQs.

aston third time
yesterday, friday the 16th of June 2007 several/seven young men departed from Macdonald's™ for ASTON. THIRD TIME. wah seh make sure you dont get baked or bbq beans or else you end up buying hawker centre western food! lol anyway i ordered crispy fried chicken with potato salad and mash potato, definitely a better choice than the previous one lol. yea it was gd and filling. you spark it off with the freshest packed juice of SNAPPLE™ (MANGO) and your appetite will be satisfied. an interview with Hancong, active member of FLC, had also expressed his dearest, most sultry and delighted feelings for ASTON by constantly reinforcing that the meat of the fish he tasted was "tender". Special guest Ang JunHeng™ has also honoured his fish meal with the very sensational word "soft".
asides from that, undoubtedly the merry conversations around the table were intelligent, prime, and epigrammatic. Through the wafting of redolent, piquant aroma of the dishes FLC never fails to deliver new ideas concerning class matters, overbranching under-the-sun issues, bullshit, etc. join us today and you will see a dramatic improvement and change in creative-thinking skills!
lunch shld have lasted longer but it didnt. finally hc yanjie and i boarded 31 to yanjies clubhouse for intensive studying. yanjie kept making funny noises LOL. yep, anyway his clubhouse makes an excellent place for studying. thanks yj for the hospitality!
have a good day peeps

Outing on Friday and Saturday!
Things have been going rather slowly during the holidays for most of us - ok, maybe it's just me - but I've had a great outing on Friday... and Saturday! Well, most of our FLC members were not present on Friday as it was the holidays and we all needed a break from eating all that good food. Only a pathetic three members of the FLC attended Friday's meeting... at Aston AGAIN! Ahahaha!
The three people who went were me, Kevin and Yan Jie. One of the reasons we went is because we had tuition after the FLC meeting. The food at Aston was delicious as usual, but it seemed to me that the service was a little slower than before. Perhaps it was because the whole restuarant was rather crowded. This time, I ordered the Prime Ribeye for my main course coupled with the two same side dishes as last time. The texture of the steak was just nice, and it went very well with their mushroom sauce. After lunch, we went to Parkway ( again -.-) to browse around as we had time to spare.
Then the following day, which was saturday, I went out with my primary school friends to catch a movie... which was Ocean's Thirteen. I haven't watch the first two movies so it was pretty confusing at the start, with the introductions of all the characters and all, not to mention that some of the dialogue was pretty unclear and I could not catch what they were saying at certain parts. Personally, I feel that the front has a little too much dialogue, but the plus point was that it was able to keep me interested. The real deal comes when they start putting their plan into action and there are several twists along the way...

*SPOILERS*
Just kidding I'm not gonna spoil the movie.
After that, we met some OTHER primary school friends and went to watch " Men In White".... I think it's horrible haha. To me, the jokes were rather lame though I have to admit that some were actually rather funny. But there was practically no evidence of a solid storyline, it felt like something wildly pieced together in a rush. The bottom line is, if you really want to watch this movie, please do not go on a weekend and spend $9.50 on this. I doubt it will be worth your while. =)

New Place to dine at for FLC!
I'm back from an amazing trip with the FLC people. Today, we only had 5 people at the FLC meeting... in Aston, a high-class restuarant that specializes in western food. Adieu, Parkway Parade for the FLC members have decided to venture in to foreign grounds to experience new food sensations!
Just abit of background information, Aston is located opposite Katong Mall, which is near park way anyway =P. This place was recommended to us by our very own club member Han Cong. I did have doubts about the place at first but all these doubts were cast away after a sampling of the food. I'll elaborate on the heavenly taste later. Of course, we had to wait just to enter such a classy restuarant. While waiting, we looked at the menu outside the restuarant and wow there sure was alot to choose from. The price ranged from about $5.90 for chicken to about $15 for beef steak. For those with an expensive taste, there is the $89.90 wagyu beef steak - mmm, wagyu beef =O - yes, $89.90, not $8.90.
Finally after about five minutes of waiting we got our table, and the interesting thing is that we placed our orders before being shown to our table. The place was oozing of class and the ambience created was perfect for fine dining =). After taking a few photos ( which will be in the FLC photo album), the food finally came. Mine came last, and alot of effort was obviously put in for the president of the club =P just kidding. Si Cheng picked two very ordinary side dishes ( french fries and baked beans -.-) which made his order look like something he smuggled from a foodcourt.
In my opinion, the food there was superb and definitely worth the money. The generous servings were huge and the food tasted great! Even the french fries were seasoned with special spices that made it unique and appetizing, which leaves alot to be said about the regular fries sprinkled with merely salt. Ask any of our members about the quality of the food and I seriously doubt any of them will have anything negative to say about it. My only gripe about that place is that the drinks seemed a little ordinary and abit costly. A very good example is that you have to PAY for plain water... and it costs 30 cents T_T. It's a good thing our members demostrated some intelligence by not ordering plain water =D ( Guess who I'm referring to - Hint: He's a sloth)
Lastly, I conclude that today was a very fruitful trip as we managed to find a new place which serves great food at an affordable price. Credit goes to Han Cong. All the other members that joined us can take credit for just eating the food =). We're planning to head there again at the end of the month and I hope that more members can join us this time or you guys will be missing out on great food. We went to Parkway's MPH to browse DVDs... for about an hour haha. It was the perfect way to waste some time (but not money). Haha I better stop writing or this might be too long a post to read. See you guys at the next meeting!
P.S Be sure to check the photo album for the pictures. =D i uploaded some of the older ones as well.

Reflections for the trip =)
Indeed, this friday was an eventful trip filled with... boredom haha. We had physics lesson in the morning which kind of ruined the enthusiastic mood that we usually had (It's called a holiday for a reason! =D). Followed by a torturous one and a half hours of chemistry zzz, I still think that miss lyana was gracious enough to end the lesson early.
However, this left us ( those who are in physics tuition haha) with a big problem - we had a whole three and a half hours before tuition. We did managed to cut it down to three hours though; i'll elaborate on that later. Of course, after a democratic poll before lessons ended, we decided to go to the foodcourt. There were a total of eight of us, if I am not wrong, and the meal went rather smoothly. It was a little boring though, as an important ( okay la actually not very important =P) person was not present... it was the club pet I mean vice president. Si Cheng apparently had scout camp, except for the fact that he doesn't look like a scout at all... I mean, he'd probably make the whole team lost if they went on an expedition together. Plus, he would eat up all the cookies that those scouts had baked! =D just joking. Our meal at the food court took approximately an hour due to the fact that we ate our dessert very slowly and Bronson only joined us later.
After we were all filled up and happy, we had to find something to do. An unforgettable puppet fight that broke out between all the members; I got a tiger!! The puppet even roars! Someone was constantly trying to kiss me with a stupid spotted frog puppet, which was rather traumatising =D. I was more afraid that the storekeepers would kick us out because we were abusing their products haha. Anyway, boredom ensued after we left MPH as we had nothing to do. We went to MacDonalds but everyone was not in the mood to play 'Dare or Dare', so most of them left at around 1.30 pm =(.
Of course, me, kevin and yan jie also left the place at that time. We decided to visit Parkway's...toilet. After much discussion, our little group decided to go to tuition a little early to prove that we had a good sense of time... except that we were a whole half an hour early =D. However, this proves that we DO have a good sense of time as we managed to persuade the tuition teacher to start at 2... meaning we were right on the dot yay.
That was more or less the end of the day for the FLC club. Members feel free to post your reflections and I need to know if you guys want to meet up next week haha. Though it is a holiday and there is no school before our meeting, we must always remember to keep our CCA commitments as one of the top priorities in life (so much for joining cricket =D).
